Two HB Construction Principals Named in NM Business Weekly's 40 Under Forty
Two of HB Construction’s Principals were named in New Mexico Business Weekly’s 40 Under Forty supplement, a publication which honors New Mexico’s most accomplished young professionals, whose efforts are shaping the future of the state.
HB Construction’s President and CEO Jason W. Harrington and Chief Financial Officer Adam B. Harrington were selected for the award out of over 150 other nominees, an all-time record for nominations to the publication’s award program. HB Construction was the only commercial construction company named in the 2011 list and one of only four companies with multiple honorees on the list.
“Jason and Adam have both done some truly amazing work for the construction industry and the community. I can’t think of anyone else who is more deserving of this award,” said Paul Dahlgren, marketing coordinator of HB Construction.
According to an article by New Mexico Business Weekly, “The judges, all 40 Under Forty alumni, selected honorees based on professional achievement, leadership and community involvement.”
Along with running a multi-million dollar commercial construction firm, Jason W. Harrington is also heavily involved in the community. His work supporting groups such as the American Red Cross, UNM School of Engineering Construction Programs Advisory Council and the United Way De Tocqueville Society, combined with his work on community initiatives at HB Construction, has continued to support numerous people throughout the community.
This past year, Jason W. Harrington also worked with state officials and construction industry allies to write revisions to New Mexico’s procurement law which currently makes in-state preference easily attainable for out-of-state firms. Senate Bill 19 was introduced this past legislative session and passed through the House unanimously and the Senate with only one objection.
Adam B. Harrington’s groundbreaking work as CFO, Safety Director and Human Resources Director has continued to push HB Construction to the forefront of commercial construction in New Mexico. His work with numerous community organizations including his role as Board President for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico, continue to make a lasting impact on the community at large.
Along with the 40 Under Forty nominations, HB Construction was recently awarded the 2011 General Contractor of the Year award by the American Subcontractors Association of New Mexico at the association’s annual awards luncheon on June 2.
A luau-style mixer celebrating the 40 Under Forty honorees will be held July 14 and Honorees will also be featured in a special New Mexico Business Weekly publication July 15.
